I need your wisdom, flashing a 6800GT

Hello,

I have a 6800GT that currently is running at 900/350! which is annoying as the defualt is 1000/350.

Anyways, i've oced it before to 1100/380 quite comfortably. But as i'm on vista and can't overclock, I need a more permament solution...

I was just wondering on your thoughs? I wouldn't mind giving flashing a go sounds good. Is there a way of restoring messed attempts?

What. 'Coolbits' isn't supported in the Nvidia drivers for Vista?

Hmmm, have you tried all of the normal programs like coolbits (as said by Jesse_hz), and rivatuner?

Hello,

Unfortunatley the only one that "works" is nTune, but bearing in mind this is nVidia's version of the word "works" in that I can't select my own clock speeds.

But I would like to flash my card, any advice on how to do it? It's a Gainward 6800GT with 2.0ns memory. I've taken it past 380/1100 before so maybe an Ultra bios flash?

No. If you really want to change the bios, then dumping the current bios to harddrive, modifying it and flashing it back would be the best way to do it IMO.

What you want to do may be possible, but I wouldn't recommend it.
