I want to upgrade my CPU

I want to upgrade my processor but im not sure if the one i want will fit onto my motherboard. Can someone please help?

My Specs: Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Motherboard: nForce4 Ultra Series
Graphics Card: Geforce 9600 GSO

The processor i want to get is a:

Intel CPU E6300 Pentium Dual Core LGA775 2.80GHz 1066Mhz FSB 2MB Cache

As far as I know, nForce 4 series doesn't support Dual Core ( More information required ).

First, Dual Core Processors are already outdated. People usually buy Core 2 Duo or better processor. So, why don't you buy something better ? ^o^

According to my source, NForce 4 doesn't support Dual-Core. I recommend you buy a new motherboard. You should buy a new motherboard with LGA 1156 oR LGA 1366. Don't buy one with LGA 775 socket since it is very outdated !! Well, you can buy one with LGA 775 and it usually costs lest than 100 dollars. It is true that LGA 775 motherboards support Dual Core processors ( Your NForce 4 doesn't ), but most people and probably most users here won't recommend a LGA 775.

I suggest buying core 2 duo rather than dual core. It will be even better going for quad core. I myself have upgraded just like you, but on a intel original motherboard, and went for core 2 duo. I can feel the difference.

Well, your motherboard will likely not support an Intel CPU as your present CPU is an AMD (Socket 754). It would be good if you could supply us with a few more details about your system. Use CPU-Z and post a few screenshots.
