I can find the icon (in Vista) by navigating here:

    C:\Users\NAMEOFUSER\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

(I removed my username because it contains personal information)

From there, you can just drag the Show Desktop icon to the QuickLaunch bar.

Let me know if that works for you.

    Cheers,

andoyan, I checked your previous post and it appears you have Windows XP. You should let us know the OS you have as the path can be different:

Right click on the Desktop> click on 'arrange icons by'> make sure 'show icons' is checked.

If it is already checked, reboot the computer> did the icons come up?

IF not, do you notice any other problems with the system> if Yes> go through the Virus and Malware Removal and post the logs for us to check: http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic58138.html

Please move over to the Virus and Malware Forum to post the logs and get help.
