Hi,

I am cloning an old IDE drive, to a new Sata drive.

Specifically, when connecting them simultaneously, I should set the IDE drive to master, correct?

And for the Sata II drive do I need to set the jumpers to something, or hook the drive up in a specific sata port? (I have sata ports 0 to 5, and a sata DVD Drive occupies one).

(Ignore my previous post about the procedure...)

Thanks a bunch!

You will not need to mess with any jumpers on the sata drive, the jumpers on sata drives are actually to force SATAI mode for old boards/enclosures that can't handle SATA II. Port doesn't matter either, if you are planning on booting from the sata in the future you need to have it set in the BIOS for that drive to boot, but its number doesn't matter.
