    Hi guys,

Thinking of going for a new build, I'll hold onto a couple of components from my machine such as operating system, case, sound card, monitor and mouse/keyboard.

    So if you had between £500 - £600 ($800 - $1000) to spend for a new,

    PSU
    CPU
    RAM
    Motherboard
    Graphics card
    Hard drive

What would you recommend? Machine used for gaming and photo editing on Windows 7.

    All the best,
    Mark

Well at that budget you could squeeze in a Core i5 system.

Look around for a few good deals online.

    My picks:

    CPU - Intel Core i5 750
    Motherboard - MSI P-55 GD 65
    RAM - G.Skill (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz
PSU - Corsair 650TX or 550VX (for a little cheaper)
GPU - Radeon HD 5770 or HD 4890 (the 4890 is definitely much more powerful but does not have DX-11 capability.)

You could get all these for about £600 along with an HDD.

Probably won't be able to keep your OS, aside from that you won't be able to use DX11 in the future.
    Wait actually vista supports DX11.
