IE8 freezes with a new tab at 'Connecting...'

I've been at this for the last two days.

I've read a lot of posting on this forum about the same problem.

I've gotten rid of some trojans, viruses and such, reset IE, disabled add-ons.

However, in a short time of use, a new tab when selected will freeze at connecting.

Heck! The original tabs that were working fine will freeze in that I can't click on a link; can't even scroll the webpage using the mouse.

I would like the members here to take a look at the attched HiJackThis log and tell me if they seen anything.

I'm still determining if malware is still the culprit.

(I can't seem to upload the attachment. Getting the generic error, ' Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage', and so I've pasted the log below. sorry.)

    Cheers.

I suggest you try Firefox which is a better and faster browser. You mention getting rid of "some trojans, viruses and such." Hopefully you've had a good overhaul of your security (AV and firewall), are keeping it bang up to date and running regular scans. That needs to be your priority as well as keeping clear of dodgy sites.

Yeah, well I needed help with IE8.

Found some assistance from another forum:

    techsupportforum.com

Try to paste their link in this post, but I need ...

Well there is now Internet Explorer 9 and Firefox 4 so I'd move on from IE8 which is out of date. If you are using XP though be aware that you cannot use IE9.
