I'm getting no audio

Hey guys, I recently build my first desktop, primarily for gaming, having done this, everything is working fine and dandy, but I am getting no audio from my pc, no matter whether I plug in speakers or headphones, I get no output of audio, the annoying thing is though everything seems to be working fine, the volume control shows the audio(music playing), I have installed and uninstalled the audio drivers several times, I have rolled back the drivers, I have tried both the mobo input, and the front input but no audio what so ever.

I have also tried disabling my AMD High Def Audio, which made no difference.

If it is any use my specs are...

Asus P8H77-V LE
i5 3750K
4GB Ram

Realtek HD Audio :(

Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers.

I know this may seem like a stupid response but does your speakers require external power for amplified speakers? If so the speakers may not be getting power.

Edit:
Have you tried a different set of speakers or head phones?

The speakers have external power which is plugged in, I have tried 2 different sets of headphones and 2 speakers.

My only other thought would be faulty audio on the motherboard.

You might could try turning off front panel jack detection and see if that does anything.

One more idea: in Ctl Panel>Sound, select Speakers (as you have it now) THEN click Properties->Advanced. Uncheck "Allow applications to take full control" and reboot
