Does anyone know if there is a "best practices" method of exporting IIS Application Pools from an existing Windows 2003 server and importing them to a new server?
I see that one can export "Application Pools" as a tab delimited .txt, a .csv, or Unicode versions of the same.
I also see that you can choose New > Application Pool (from file), which allows one to import an XML file.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone has done this for stand-alone server migrations. This is for Dev, which isn't clustered and is being migrated from Windows 2000 to 2003... the Default Web Site is .... 50GB *_*
So there are a lot of App Pools............... let alone web apps. There is one Prod server that is already running IIS 6.0, so it has a list of App Pools for reference.
