incorrect function

hello everyone,

on my laptop, when I put in a DVD-R disc, I get the incorrect function message.

it is a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K16A if that helps

is there a driver I can download to support DVD-R discs?

You can try and do a System Recovery and see if the DVD R/W function returns... other than that, CD/DVD R/W's do go bad

Either -

Go to My Computer,right-Click on the drive with the problem,
select Properties/Recording Tab and check that the
"Enable CD Recording On This Drive" box,is checked.

or

Update,uninstall,or change your current burning program (Nero,Roxio,Sonic DVD etc.)

or

Flash the latest firmware HERE Be careful if you try this one !
