   -Can i put a stick of 1 gb RAM and a 2 gb RAM at the same time on the motherboard?

   yes you can if your Motherboard dimm's allow that capacity, but if your only using 1x1gb and 1x2gb you will not activate the dual channel capability if your motherboard has that architecture.
