    I have an inspiron laptop with Vista preinstalled. I want to install Fedora 8 and have a dual boot. I installed yesturday but the bootmgr disappeared. This is a rental laptop so they reinstalled vista, deleting fedora 8.
    I need to know detailed instructions on how I can install fedora 8.

    Is it possible to attach an external hard drive to the laptop?

    Can't help on detailed instructions for the install but you should be able to hook up an external HD provinding you have a usb port free
