Yes, it`s absolutely possible and is what most folks run on their 64bit systems. You shouldn`t have any problems at all.

In a nutshell, all current consumer 64-bit CPUs still contain 32-bit instructions. This means they run both 64-bit and 32-bit software with no problems.

I'd blanket-recommend 32-bit Windows for any current CPU purely because of compatibility issues (hardware and software), but either one will work fine on your system.
