i have two Hard drives ( C:\ and P:\ ) i currently have Vista installed on C:\ but i want to format it and use it as storage and put vista on P:\ because it's larger. i also want to keep the files on P:\

how would i format the HDD with vista on it and install it on the other?

You should back up all user files (documents pics etc) to external media first

It would be best then to use the Vista disc to install Windows clean on the drive
clean: meaning format first

well i've already backed up photo's and all but im thinking im gonna install a clean copy of vista on C: then copying files from P: to C: then installing vista on P: then moving the files back to C: then formatting C: then Moving files back to C: for storage.....

lol... hell of a lot of time and moving of files but it's all i can think of to keep the files

I've done this before
Time consuming, but it will work
Just take it slowly, to avoid any (hopefully not) loss of data

Good luck :grinthumb
