Installing Windows XP

I have a PC which has Windows XP installed and have the recovery disk. I also have a laptop which now has nothing installed on it at all. Can I use the recovery disk to install windows on the laptop or do I need to buy a whole new Windows OS. Sorry to sound thick but I'm unsure about all of this stuff

This will walk you through creating a windows disk from your recovery disk. The only thing that the recovery disk does is set your computer back to its factory settings, ie full of useless trial software. Hope this is of some help to you.

To put it simply, your computer has to have hardware required to run whatever OS you're installing on it. Normally you should get the recovery disk for your specific computer type. (For example, an HP recovery disk wont work on a DELL OS-less computer)
