Intermittent BSOD: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

I have been having bluescreen issues for a few weeks now on my Alienware M17x laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium. I have tried several troubleshooting efforts including trying to update drivers which may have caused the BSODs. Any help would be appreciated in solving this issue.

Type of BSOD: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
Occurance: Intermittant; can take days in between crashes. Happens during active use and during idle perioids

Bluescreen view log and minidump of the most recent crash are attached.

These are caused by, as the error title indicates by faulty drivers. Your file simply cited the Windows OS driver ACPI.sys as the cause. Now usually OS drivers are too general to be of much diagnostic help but there may be an exception here.

ACPI: stands for Automatic Configuration Power Interface is a driver which will attempt to throttle CPU usage when temperatures get to high (and other power management operations).
