    Open up the command prompt (it rocks btw!) and do an "ipconfig /all" (minus the " "). Make sure that the default gateway is that of which is on the good working internet connecting laptop.

    jet,

    How is your network setup? Is it like this?

    ((Internet))=====>Cable Modem======>Wireless Router

    If not...let me know what the setup is. Also, get me the brand name and model numbers of the equipment used in your network.

    if one laptop connects and the other does not it is either a configuration problem inside the wireless router (encryption, mac filter, etc) or a config problem inside the laptops os (firewall, proxy, wireless software, bad adapter, etc).

    Software???

    Happened to me several times. The remedy for me is to re-install the wireless router software while laptop is wired to internet. Follow on screen prompts and enjoy!
