For the last week or less I've been noticing slow downs in system performance. Initially I believed it to be malware, spyware, adware or some other jargon virus. This does not seem to be the case after downloading and installing Process Explorer(PE). The PE software showed me that between 60 and 70% of my processor usage is currently going to "Hardware Interrupts". I believe it may have something to do with me reinstalling the latest Nvidia Forceware software updates around the time the problems began. I also have an older hard drive in the machine which was suspect, but its not in PIO mode, so that doesn't seem to be it either. Does anyone have any experience with this or know some way to solve this problem.. Please help.

It being an asus mobo, make sure your mobo drivers are up to date. Could you provide more detailed information about your ram and what windows version you are using.
