my computer started to slow down, so i decided to reinstall windows. I started to install windows xp (with the intent to upgrade to vista) and it worked until the point where it is supposed to restart the system and boot off of the hard drive for the first time. but it wouldnt boot. it only boots in safe mode or using only windows domain drivers. when i try to boot normally i get the stop error message:

irql_not_less_or_equal

***STOP: 0x0000000A (0xBAB44188,0x00000002,0x805057BB)

I havent installed any new hardware and i am ran a memtest for my ram in safe mode and it seems to be fine too.

Any ideas?

thanks

0xA errors are strong indications of hardware issues, but we don't have enough information to determine what. Therefore, go here https://www.techspot.com/vb/topic51365.html and read & implement the advice given. Since you already ran Memtest (how many passes?). Let us know if you resolve your BSOD.

Also, run a harddrive diagnostics.
