Is my audio system 5.1 (or higher) surround sound compatible?

I'm just wondering if my audio system is 5.1(or higher) surround sound compatible

using Everest, under audio i had listed
Realtek ALC885/889A/890 @ Intel 82801HB ICH8 - High Definition Audio Controller [B-0] PCI
and
windows audio

and if its not compatible what effects on a 5.1(or higher) surround sound will it have
specifically: Medusa 5.1 Surround Sound Headset, and razer Megalodon(7.1) when it is released

Your surround sound will depend on the sound card you purchase.

Is just the basic information from your mobo which everest found.
When you start getting into 5.1 surround... software will then come into play so your equipment will work properly.
5.1 SURROUND WILL ABSOLUTELY WORK FOR YOU.
