Is the Core i7 930 compatible with my motherboard?

  1. Im purchasing an Intel Core i7 930 2.80Ghz Bloomfield Socket LGA1366 with an Asus P6X58D-E Intel X58 Socket 1366 DDR3 PCI-Express Motherboard. Can anyone tell me with the CPU be 100% compatible with my choice of motherboard? Will i be required to do a bios update?

Just had a view of the link you provided red1776 and i noticed "True 16+2 Phase Power Design - Unprecedented". I have a Corsair TX650 PSU will this fully power and support my motherboard choice? Reason i ask is the power connector to my mainboard is only 8pin.

The two are unrelated, the PSU is fine with the board :)

Yes it will, the Power Phases is just a system of how the power is given through to the CPU and RAM.

I maybe wrong but my friend is using a dell power supply with a fairly high asus motherboard and it has the whole power phase system and works like a charm!
