Is UEFI worth it?

Hey i'm thinking of upgrading my computer as my motherboard has just fried itself for one reason or another! I have just heard about this new thing called "UEFI" which will be replacing "BIOS" next year and wondering if it is going to be any good and whether it is worth waiting for as i was wanting to buy a new mother board before 4th Jan 2011 as tax is being increaed to 20% (UK)!!!

Any comments?

It's mostly just going to be a graphical/interface upgrade.
I don't think it's really going to make much difference to the end user.

And the tax isn't going to be huge on a £150 motherboard. Looking at £3-4 difference over the 17.5% current vat in UK.
