IT Policies

Hello Everybody,

I am working as a system administrator in a new settled company. They are planning to deploy datacenter. They ask me to prepare a IT Policy for User as well as company IT Policy.

What point should I include to make a IT Policy document.

Can someone help me out to prepare the IT Policy document.

Issues to be considered:

1. bringing your own device (cell phone & tablets)?
2. FORBID thumb drives and RDP.
3. Allow / disallow working from home?
4. FORBID social networking of all forms from company systems.
5. set all systems to limited accounts and no one gets ADMIN on company systems except the I.T. team
6. ONLY I.T. team installs software
7. No one attaches a router or access point to the LAN.
8. Will I.T. support a mixed environment? eg Win / Mac / Linux?
9. Issue to be resolved: backing up client systems vs common image used to restore.
10. Email issue: Exchange Server and controls

Just some things to consider - - you can google for specifics that others are using.

Sounds like you need to employ a professional outside consultant, or shape up and start learning how to do your job. You have provided no examples yourself for us to look over, which is concerning.
