Items being grouped items by name

My computer seems to have an annoying problem that I don't think anyone else has.

Now and then the contents of folders seems to get grouped by name for no reason. I rarely use this group feature of Vista but it seems to be affecting most of my folders except for some like my documents, pictures and the user folder that bears my name.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

not exactly certain of your situation but sounds like is related to the Folder's "View". On your folder click View up along the top of the window you'll find a number of different ways you can choose to have the folder content "viewed"

In Control Panel you might also look at Folder Options as you can probably set default views there (i don't run vista myself.. so just recalling from memory)

I've set all of the folder options to default and I hoping that this will prevent the view from changing itself. I'm not sure if this will work but I'll reply if it keeps doing it. Thanks
