iTunes and Vista any problems?

I have used ITunes for a couple of years and recently bought a Toshiba laptop with windows Vista installed.

I upgraded to Itunes version 8 and have updated the album covers for my collection. The problem I have now is that Itunes keeps stopping or freezing when I am using it to play music. I have checked the sound card on my lap top and there are no missing updates for the device drivers, I have also checked the task manager when the device is in use and the playing is using over half of my memory. My C drive has 46% free space so it should be ok.
I can't use any other applications whilst ITunes is on, so bang go my ideas of music whilst I surf....

Any help or tips as to what I need to do next? More memory, uninstall Itunes and go back to an earlier version?

    Many thanks for any advice

    Greatly appreciated

I had nothing but problems using iTunes. Songs would disappear and you could not choose your own songs more than one at a time. There is an add-on program called Xplay for Windows Media Player that is worth the money

I know this won't help you, but I have both iTunes 8 and windows Vista Home and have had no problems. I doubt that it is a software issue between vista and iTunes as they generally do seem to work fine together. Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes?
