July brings lower-than-expected revenue for mobo makers

  1. July proved to be a tough month for motherboard manufacturers, with most reporting lower-than-expected revenue according to DigiTimes. Gigabyte witnessed a healthy 44.4% sequential growth thanks to strong demand in China (still a 12.95% drop YOY), shipping 1.75 to 1.85 million motherboards and 200,000 to 250,000 graphics cards. Other big names didn't fare quite as well.

    The world's "disposable income" has to run out at some point. Did the manufacturer's earnings projections take into account that, believe it or not, people buy other things than computer parts...?

    Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that statement will start an argument here at Techspot...:rolleyes:
