I saw in Newegg this card again, is like the first card I listed, but it is retail package, so please, once again, out this 2, which is the best: (remember, no 6600GT´s or 9800PRO´s)

I know that 128MB difference is nothing, and the black card is cheaper. Also, regarding the red card, in Newegg´s site, is has some bad reviews, so I trust more the black card, and in sapphire´s site, the red card is not even listed, so another point for the black card.
What do you think about this??

i would say go for it then, the black card one i mean

I'd get this instead of those two. It has a better cooling solution(Sapphire is known for low-quality ones) and plus the Sapphires both do not have very good reviews. So go for this. Its a 9600XT, but from Jetway. I used to have a Jetway Radeon 9200SE and it worked fine for me. Now its in my dad's PC and it still works properly.

That card you listed would be perfect for me, but just a question:
Is Jetway a bad generic brand?
What about memory and gpu clocks?
Is the Jetway card equal to the black sapphire one?
The price rocks, and Newegg too. So I hope Jetway its a good brand.

Don't think its bad at all. Only thing is, this thing won't O/C very well. O/C it a little and it'll start to get angry like hell. The black Sapphire is 128MB and this one's 256MB so its definitely better. Regarding clocks, they both have the same clocks as far as I can tell. And I told u about my own personal experience with JetWay, so they're pretty good. I would rather u take this card than the black or the red one but ur choice man. Make the right one :grinthumb

the jetway and shppire run at the same clockepps as far as i can see
exept the jetway had 256mb of vram ;)

So, now I know that Jetway makes quality products, so if Newegg doesn´t deactivate the card until February, i´ll be getting it.
Do you know why Newegg deactivate their products often?
Does deactivate mean that is no longer available?

2 or 3 weeks ago, the black retail sapphire board was deactivated by newegg. But today I saw that it was available again. I hope that in February the Jetway one is in stock. I´ll be paying via money order, but do you think that Newegg accepts mexican (bancomer) debit cards?
Thanks, and until tomorrow. Nice dreams :)

    why would they deactiveate it
  9. Rage_3K_Moiz Sith Lord Posts: 7,245   +16

Probably they do it coz they run out of stock for those products.

FYI, the red sapphire and the jetway card are pretty much identical. cept for the fact that ones green/gold HSF and the others red/silver HSF

interms of cooling performance... the jetway will be better than the black sapphire, but will be jus as good as the red sapphire. they use the same HSF reference cooler from ATI so i dont see why the jetway should be any better in cooling.

if ur on a budget then go for the jetway card. i personally think its the ugliest card ever lol but if ur case doesnt have any side windows to show off ur computer guts.. then its the best choice for u. otherwise the red sapphire is #2 on ur list

Don't buy Sapphire. You never get what you pay for.

If newegg doesn´t deactivate the card again, i´ll buy the jetway card, if it is deactivated, i´ll go for the red sapphire card or the powercolor card in zipzoomfly.
By the way, I have a Gateway 310X case, so the jetway won´t be seen.
Thanks for the help :giddy: :grinthumb

    Change of card!!!

I saw in Newegg a DAMN GREAT deal!!
    A Powercolor 9600XT 128Mb costing $64 !!!
So I ordered it. Next day it went out of stock, but Newegg reserved one for me.
Three days ago, I received it. Its working GREAT. The card is very powerful. I overclocked it to 325MHZ memory and 540 core and no artifacts.
But I ran Soldier of fortune 2 and got heavy slowdowns, in certain places almost 10 or 8 FPS. Im sure that the radeon can handle the game easily, so I will change the CPU. Its a Northwood Celeron 2.6GHZ, so it is the bottleneck.
I will change it to a Prescott Celeron D 335 @2.80 GHZ. It should be WAY better than the nothwood one. And is only at 81 dls at newegg.
After that SOF2 and Price of Persia Sands of Time should run much better.
I will order the CPU maybe in three or four days. :)
