So I just built my brand new pc I went to power it on for the first time and I got no video signal 'Monitor ok No Signal, video cable connected'(this is my default monitor message). I got beeps from the bios. 1 Long, 1 short. I looked it up in the manual that came with my motherboard and it says 1 long 1 short = "Memory or motherboard error"

Is my Motherboard defective? what should my next step be?

I just tried this, I put in 1 stick in the 1st slot, and then I tried the other stick; both times I got the same thing as before.

Did you use the motherboard standoffs? Could the motherboard be shorting against the case?

Both external power connectors on the graphics card connected to power supply?

I took my Motherboard out and tried it outside the case to see if it was short circuting. I got the same error. I then put it back in and re-seated everything. Now I get a long beep and two shorts. "Video or monitor error".

No I dont have both connected, I have the 6 pin connected, however the 8 pin Male from my PSU (P3) does not fit correctly.it is as follows:

On my Graphics card:
square rounded rounded rounded
rounded rounded square square

On my P3 Cable(the only 8 pin cable) it is:
square rounded rounded square
rounded square square rounded

please forgive my lay-mens terms for describing it.

I looked at the psu specs and aparently it doesnt have an 8 pin adapter for my gpu

M/B 24 Pin x 1
CPU 4 Pin x 1
CPU 8 Pin x 1
PCI-E 6 Pin x 2
4 Pin Peripheral x 5
SATA x 6
4 Pin Floppy x 1

So I guess I've found my problem.

I read on the web that the 8 pin connector is not required for that card unless you are OCing it. Is this information correct? If so, and that isn't the problem any idea what else it could be?

Great! Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Glad it's working.

For the record you are correct that if you are not going to overclock, the 8 pin isn't necessary but then you should connect the other 6 pin PCI-E connector which I guess you did. Also, there is such a thing as an 8 pin PCI-E connector which is different from the CPU 8 pin connector. Your PSU just didn't come with one.
