Just few hours ago, i got a vbs:malware-gen virus. I cleared it through the tutorial at http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=WORM_LEGMIR.FU&VSect=Sn . But i didnt follwed the last step with trend's antivirus, but with Avast. It detected no worms after cleaning all autorun.inf files.
Now the problem is, this virus disables unhide feature. even when u unhide something files will not reappear...and the hide option will switch back to Hidden mode as soon as u close folder options. To fix this, i edited registry. but now, there is no "Show all files and folders" option in Folder options. Only "Do not show hidden files.." option is there.
Now from google i got, to unhide goto somewhere in registry and set the "hidden" value to 1 from 2. i did this and got my files back. but i hv to follow all thses steps to get my hidden files back.
Can i get my folder options working like previously? any help?
