"Keep connection alive".???

Hi all,

just a quick question, is there a part somewhere in windows that says (when your on the internet) "Keep connection alive".???

i know that when you click properties on the interent connection there is a part that says "if idile for so long hangup" it's not cheked but it still hangs up after 20 min

please need help.

Well Milhouse,you ahve an interesting question.
As far as i know there is no setting called "keep Connection Alive"
But im sure that there is one like "hang up if idle for so and so"
Its called "Disconect when connection is no longer requiered.
If you have this option selected, try to disable it, then see it
it prevails...

As i am connected to a router, i cannot see an ointernet connection and therefore cannot tell you where this etting is located, just look for it and just try different options!

The only place in windows I can think of right now that has a "keep connection alive" option is the different FTP clients available....

You could try enabling the in "disconnect when connections is no longer required" and setting the disconnect time to the highest setting. If you're still disconnected after 20 minutes, chances are it's your isp doing the disconnecting...
