Keyboard problems on both USB and PS2 ports

  1. When I have my keyboard plugged in to the ps2 port it will "go crazy", copying and pasting recently typed text over and over again until it beeps and stops working.

A friend suggested using a usb adapter. This works better, but every so often (twice just typing this) the keyboard stops for a moment, all the lights flash and then it comes back. It does this on 2 different keyboards.

I have no idea what to do. BTW, I can give system info if requested, I just didn't know what would be relevant. Thanks.

    Have you fully updated Windows?
    Latest USB drivers?
Are you using dodgy software? Is it always the same program that rears it's ugly head?
    Have you checked for trojans/viruses?

Have you checked for trojans/viruses? Yes.

I recently reinstalled Windows hoping that would take care of it. My system is clean and up to date.
