The Full Body tracking coupled with multitouch technology... Now THAT sounds useful compared to playing games. Redmond, make it so~

  6. It won't take long for porn games to be marketed as Kinect multitouch

    Yey, touchscreen without fingerprints!!!!!

Sign me up. Smaller form factor, cut the distance reqs to be about 2 feet from monitor, about a hundred bucks, I'm sold.

Add to that a tablet input device, along with an old school keyboard for long typing sessions, and you're probably all set in the input department until VR comes along.

As a programmer I am amazed by the speed of which the Kinect was broken, for two reasons
    1. The guy who broke this must have some time on his hands, not to mention 3000 dollars was involved, anyways it is truly awesome how fast he broke it
    2. Im surprised Microsoft had left it like this, I heard that they said it was "Un tamperable" or something along those lines, goes to show hackers will always be on the top.
  15. I am shocked that nobody at Redmond foresaw the myriad of possible applications for this technology. Did anyone there see 'Minority Report'?

The marketing department conceived it as a mere game controlling device...

I believe that in a near future a new product must appear dedicated to a more generic usage, such as GUI manipulation or even changing TV channels, for instance.

its amazing how people buy hardware and try to use them for things they are not intended for. the developers are headed the wrong direction. seem like a lot of people here at the comments section want somethings else ;)

Yes it should be interesting to see what people come up with to use this besides a game controller. Also it is sad that the concept interfaces that people are coming up with work better then the hold hand method that MS came up with for the 360. MS should have used something that was more point and swipe like this shows.
