Are you shutting it down, or putting it into sleep/hibernate?

So what exactly does it do if you try to turn it on and its not working?

Do you see any lights at all? Does the screen light up? Or is it acting like its totally dead with absolutely no signs of life?

When it next does it, remove the battery completely, and run it directly off of the mains lead. See if it will start then.

I take it, its not covered by a warranty?

It's rather strange, I'm rather unsure what else would be causing it. It seems really odd though. I'm sure someone else will know more much than I though. :)
