Laptop screen won't come on

    So i have an acer aspire 5542-1615 the computer starts up but the screen does not come on i thought i needed a new screen so i bought one installed it and same thing.
    I also thought maybe the back light but i believe it's inside the screen as i can not find it on here.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

    Hi acefsj,

    Have you tried pluggin in an external monitor into the VGA port to checkl if there may be a fualt on the mobo ?

    Also i have (on many occasions i must sadly admint) replaced a laptop screen only to find i missed a cable along the way.
