Laptop Won't Connect to Home Computer Through Ethernet or Wireless

  1. Alright so I have two Windows computers, my laptop being Vista and my home network computer which is connected directly to the router is XP and then there is a Mac but I don't think it would interfere.
    So basically whenever I look at my connection it says it's connected to "Unidentified Network" (Then my router name) and it says the access is local only.
    I don't know how this happened, I've been connected to the internet using this computer and router for almost a year now and I've changed nothing.
    But maybe you guys could come up with some specific troubleshooting steps?
    Oh yeah and neither ethernet or wireless connection is working.
    Thanks guys.

    Oh yeah and the connection only works if the laptop is in safe mode.

    I think you're saying the network looks like
    Code:
    modem--WiFi.Router---wired.XP
                |
                +---- wired.Mac
                |
                + ..... WiFi or Wired Vista laptop

    The Mac and XP can use the Internet (can they share between them?)

    Vista can not share (but can it use the internet?)

    On vista try this
    run->ipconfig /all >mytcp.txt
    and attach \user\yourLogin/mytcp.txt to your follow-up
