LCD Monitor Question

I have a AOC/Envision lcd monitor its VGA but its an lcd is there anyway to get DVI out of it i have a Geforce 8600gt 1gb OC graphics card with 1 dvi input ist here anything i can buy
once again its an AOC/Envision 917Sw LCD MONITOR 19"

You have a monitor with a VGA input and an 8600GT with a DVI output, I'm assuming.

If your problem is the 8600GT doesn't have a VGA out (only DVI), then you may buy an adapter. In fact, if your card came 'new retail box', chances are it probably came with one. Otherwise, you need a new monitor or a new video card.

However, if you just want DVI because you think it is going to be better, don't do it. Your monitor is VGA... Nothing will change that. At best, using a converter can only result in the *same* picture quality, if not worse... since you'll be connecting through your LCD's VGA port still... and you won't really see any benefits to using DVI.
