What just happened? As part of the Microsoft vs. FTC leaks, several unannounced Bethesda games have been revealed in court documents that were part of the Redmond giant's acquisition of ZeniMax Media, Bethesda's parent. They include a new Doom title called Doom Year Zero and Dishonored 3. The roadmap also mentions the hugely anticipated Elder Scrolls VI and remasters of older games.

The roadmap, which uses a ZeniMax presentation as its source, is part of an internal Microsoft document from July 2020 summing up its proposal to acquire ZeniMax Media. It covers the 2020 to 2024 financial years, listing Bethesda games for console, PC, and mobile.

The list includes games that have already been released, such as Starfield, Redfall, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Deathloop. There are also games we know about but are yet to arrive, the new Indiana Jones title falling into that category.

The roadmap also shows games that have yet to be revealed. The most interesting is a new Doom game called Doom Year Zero that is, or was, scheduled to land sometime during the current financial year. It appears that there is also some DLC planned.

Another unannounced title is Dishonored 3. A third full entry in the immersive sim series will be welcome news for fans who might not have loved Deathloop. The game is set to come out during the next financial year, which runs from April 2024 to March 2025, as is the sequel to Ghostwire: Tokyo.

The roadmap also features several unnamed games: Project Hibiki, Project Kestrel, and Project Platinum. Kestrel is believed to be a new online game that has been in development for over 4 years at ZeniMax Online Studios. There's also a 'Licensed IP Game' set for release in the next financial year, and it seems Bethesda is planning on remastering Fallout 3 and Oblivion.

It's important to remember that many roadmaps end up changing. This one shows that Starfield missed its planned launch date by two years, and a different leak revealed that The Elder Scrolls VI isn't expected until at least 2026. Moreover, there will undoubtedly be some games that have been canceled since the document was revealed in July 2020.

Yeah that roadmap is vaaastly out of date. I wouldn't at all mind a Fallout 3 or Oblivion remaster, in fact I'd adore that (also New Vegas please!)
Got no clue what Doom Year Zero is but they did make a mobile game that is kinda fun - its a freemium game but the free to play stuffs is still pretty good.

Dishonored was fun, something a bit different.

Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider were more of the same. I always liked to try getting through levels with stealth and no killing, but eventually it just got really boring after the first couple of levels. Taking hours to play through a level, back tracking to hide bodies, trying to set traps and lure bad guys in....it's just easier to go through and lay waste to everything and everyone in your way. There is little challenge in combat, especially if you can get them to all follow you into a bottleneck area (doorway into a building, top of stairs in a hallway, etc) - they just filter in one after the next and you can take them out so easily.

If they do make a Dishonored 3, they need to seriously change things and make it so it's not so easy like the other ones are. Right now the games kind of feel like Assassin's Creed, sure you can sneak about if you really want, but it's just easier and faster to kill everyone.

They really need to include an update to Fallout 4 removing all the bugs and issues ...... please.

Another Dishonored would maybe be interesting. The first one I loved and did a few runs.

The 2nd I liked (along with the DLC), but also I didn't bother a second run. The first playthrough I had physics bugs that ruined a "no kill" run, but I wasn't really feeling it towards the end. The time stuff was neat though.

They would really have to sell me on a new mechanic this time around.

I swear I recently read the Doom franchise is done. I'm too lazy to look it up.

Its a name IP that made a ton of money on its last two games; no reason to think that would translate to "done".

It could go into hibernation for a bit sure, but if an IP makes money, it will see titles for it.

What are Doom's sales?

What are Doom's sales?
DOOM 2016: 5.5 Million on Steam alone; DOOM Eternal: 5.1 Million on Steam alone. Don't have the numbers for other platforms/storefronts, but if we assume Steam is 2/3 of the overall market, that gets us around 7.5 Million for each as an absolute LOW END estimate.

Let me be clear: the last two releases were by far the most successful in the franchises history, and an absolute money maker.

Eh. Doom (2016) felt like playing Painkiller or Serious Sam. I wasn't impressed by Doom 2016, I know a lot of people were, but man, it was so boring.

But, we all know that when a franchise makes money it gets capitalized on. Look at COD and Madden games, same thing over and over and over again, but they make money so it's a no brainer for the developers.

We know the next game got canceled/delayed so we'll see what happens. The internet is rife with speculation so something is going on.
