Lenovo Miix 2 8 Review: Good, Affordable 8-inch Tablet With One Major Flaw

It would've been great they put a slider keyboard instead of using it for special characters, like SlideIt or Swype, great touch keyboard softwares.

I've had this tablet since December, and my only disagreement is on the touch typing and touch overall. I'm typing this on the standard keyboard with no issues, and neither have I experienced issues with touchscreen usage in general. The tablet works great to consume media, read and surf, and even occasionally create. Thanks for the review, though :)

I have this tablet. There are numerous inaccuracies in both the review and some of the other comments.

First, the touchscreen works fine. The McAfee bloatware that is pre-installed on it is known to bog down the responsiveness of the system. Since uninstalling it, I've never had problems with the responsiveness. The reviewer should know better than to test a device with crapware on it.

Second, the tablet DEFINITELY comes with MS Office Home and Student. Not a trial, but the full license. Look in the box for the license key - it's there. The Lenovo website says it's a trial, but that's a typo.

Third, nobody mentions the excellent integrated GPS that comes with this tablet. This is a standout feature. Out of the box, the GPS can only be accessed by Modern apps, but there is free software that will bring the GPS into the legacy Windows apps via an IP address. Use Google to find GeolocationTCP. It works great for any legacy Windows program that can accept GPS signals via IP address.

Finally, this tablet has a REALLY BRIGHT display, so if you want a tablet for outdoor use, this is the one to get. I bought it to use outside as a GPS on a boat, and it's great for that.

Hi there...
Are there still touchscreen issues or have the been killed with latest software updates or firmware updates of the touchscreen?
Thanks!

Touchscreen issues are still present on a fully updated unit
