LinkSys BEFSR41

I have a linksys befsr41 router and internet service provided by comcast. Everything was working fine then I started having intermittent connection issues. Now I can not connect to the internet via the router. If I connect any of my pc's directly to the cable modem all is good. All of the led's on the router light up like they are supposed to and the pc's show connected to the router but no internet. I have reset the cable modem and the router no go.
I cleared everything out and started over, going step by step to set up the router still nogo. Does anyone have any suggestions. I tried contacting linksys/cisco and they said that my support time is over so they can't help me. I tried their so called 24/7 free live chat and low and behold, no one was there to respond from their end. Please help. I am ready to build a bonfire using the router, cable modem and all the pc's in my house and go back to pen and paper and physical shopping.

let's get some configuration info before we reach for that hammer ---

  • power off EVERYTHING and wait 30 sec
  • power on the modem and wait another 30 seconds
  • now power on the router and ... (yep) wait some more
  • FINALLY boot the system
  • login as usual
  • get a command prompt (Run->cmd) and enter
    ipconfig /all >myTCP.txt

when done with the above we need to see the contents of the following lines
Code:
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
DNS Suffix Search List. . . . . . : dadadad.com

IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.4
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0

DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 208.67.222.222
and you can view that information thusly
more <myTCP.txt

maybe you can print a page and take it to another system for your next follow-up
(open the file with notepad myTCP.txt in the command prompt window
