Loading Two OS's Onto One HDD

Hello, I was wondering how I can load two OS's onto a single HDD. I've been interested in doing it for awhile now and would like to learn it. The OS's would probably be Windows XP and Ubuntu. Any help would be appreciated!

yes, you need to dual boot.
