Locking Desktop Icons

Hi everyone. I teach computers in an elementary school. A major problem is students moving icons around on the desktop and sometimes renaming them.

All the programs I found are once that restore icons to saved settings, but that's not what I want. Is there a program that can easily be installed to lock the icons in place so students cannot move them inadvertently, or rename them (on purpose of course ;) )?

They are using Windows XP.

Thanks!

Right click on the desktop. When the menu appears. Click on view. Scroll down to auto arrange Icons. This will not let them move the Icons. If they try it will put the Icon back where it came from. Hope this helps you out with your problem.

Auto-arrange just adjust icons to a grid. Doesn't stop anything.

You're going to need to look into some IT help on this. Programs such as Deep Freeze can help you.
