I was originally in the 4-500 dollar range, but i thought if i sold my 360 and all its games might be able to get something more.

Whats frustrating me is that pretty much everywhere i go, its the same thing as in the 4-500 dollar range except with a dual core i5 instead of a dual core i3 (they are both dual core, clock speed doesnt matter that much to me).

What is the best laptop i can get? i dont need to run the most graphically intensive games, but i want to have a fast laptop and be able to play skyrim on high ish settings.

I mean, a 520m is good, but i can get a laptop with that for 500...same with APUs, etc.
    So i want BETTER.

    Ibuypower starts at $900....
As much as i wish i could, i cannot spend that much.

I don't think you have a good chance at your price range.
A desktop would be better, if that's manageable.

yep , agree with hellokitty , for gaming purpose at that point of price a desktop will be a better choice.
