Can we assume your case takes an ATX motherboard?

Budget, or performance? What is the priority here? Will this be a gaming computer?

    Asus A8V or A8V deluxe

Edit(If you want LSi look for DFI)

I personally don't recommend anything by ASUS. I had a very bad experience with their boards. I have used MSI twice now with great results.

Although I don't have anything against the other boards, I have an Abit AV8 and it seems to be a very good board if you are going with AGP.

if i was you, i'd make sure you're NOT buying an a64 that is:
    -equipped with a newcastle core
    -built on a 130nm process
get a 90nm a64 (winchesters are available in said speed and inexpensive). believe me, there's a big difference between the old (130nm newcastle, clawhammer) and the new (90 nm anything else).
