I want to buy an external hard drive to back up my digital photography.

I am looking for something in the region of 500GB, but have no clue as to who makes them and what sort of features I should look for.

Any help you can give me on this subject would be greatly apreciated.

    Many thanks. Tpie.

look at this for an option:

I have one of these (in truth it was a 160Gb which I upgraded with a bigger drive to 500Gb) and it works just fine. You can use it as a USB device or connect it to a network as network storage.
If you don't like ebuyer, you can buy direct from Freecom.
BTW, their tech support is crap, but then there is not a lot to go wrong....famous last words!s
