low hardrive sequential read speed

  1. why is my pentium 3... 448 mhz....... 256 ram ... only allowing a sequential read speed of 20bm/s i tryed different drives,different leads all with 80 wires..... nothing changes ...... please explain

    It all depends if the mobo supports ata speeds, by the sound if it it doesn't, if that's the case then using ata (80wire) data cables wont make a blind bit of difference.
