Low signal with linksys wireless-n

Hi guys I just bought a new wireless-n usb adapter for my desktop. I am very close to the router, about 10 to 15 feet away. However when I check my signal strength I only get 1 bar and there's a laptop in the room right next to me that gets all 5 bars. Any ideas on how I can boost my signal strength or anything I can change to get all 5 bars?

USB adapters generally don't gain the same signal strength as the integrated network adapters found in laptops. Try relocating the adapter, use a USB extension if need be. You're most likely getting interference from somewhere.
