We have a year old mac mini G4 with os x tigre. It wasn't used for the past 3 months coz nobody wants to use it 'til now that one of our G5's died. The problem is it keeps on shutting down when installing large softwares like adobe cs and corel draw. I have only basic knowledge on Macs, checked auto sleep/shutdown and other items from system preferences but everything is configured properly.

    TY and Regards

You may want to get this and see if it is overheating: http://www.bresink.com/osx/TemperatureMonitor.html

It is also possible that you have bad RAM. http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/17156 The problem is you have to run that from within the OS, so you won't be able to test all of your RAM. Booting in single user mode and running it that way will help. The dude charges $1.39 for the download though even though its under GNU.. I've heard AppleJack is a good alternative, but never used it, it may also be more helpful for other issues you could be having.

Yeh 47 is fine. I can hit 63.2 on my 1.67Ghz G4 in my Powerbook if I'm really stressing it and it doesn't do anything odd.
