    hi all,

    configuration of my machine is
AMD Athlon 64X2 dual core 4800+ processor @2.51GHz
    1GB DDR2, NVIDIA GeForce 5500 FX
    160GB SATA HDD

i've partitioned my hard disk into C,D,E,F,G,H with 10GB,10GB,20GB,40GB,40GB,40GB respectively. and obviously Windows XP Pro SP2 in C drive.
i've got some songs and movies in F drive

now here comes the problem;). whenever i turn on my machine, it asks to scan disk check for only F drive and this scan happens in 3 stages and finally it says my F drive is perfectly alright no problems. and when i restart or start my pc later it again asks to do the same for F drive, even though i'm shutting down my machine properly, this thing happens.

any one has any idea why this is happening? this happens every time i turn on or restart my machine (even after proper shut down:eek:) and that too only to my F drive

    CHKNTFS.EXE

run chkdsk /f F: and let it run to completion at least once.
then go back and run chkntfs /d
