Mainstream Performance: GeForce GTX 960 Review

I wonder how the gtx 960 would stack up against gtx 580 in SLI?
It's just a guess but I'd say the 960 would perform comparable to one 580. In my opinion 580's in SLI would be way overkill when compared to 960. But then like I said it is only a guess.
I'm looking to upgrade mostly for DX12 and better thermals (and better performance of course). I've been looking at a gtx 970 g1 gaming but I haven't seen that one compared to dual gtx 580s.

Thanks Clifford.

I've read that the gtx 970, specifically the Gigabyte G1 Gaming part, would be a good bet for an upgrade path.

I'm thinking that even if the performance is even a little less than dual GTX 580s (which I highly doubt) it still might be worth it for the extra VRAM and power savings.

Do you have any thoughts on that?
