I've been cleaning up malware on a friend's toshiba laptop. I've booted Kaspersky from a cd and cleaned up some trojans and a rootkit. I installed Avast free and ran boot time scans. The computer is now functioning normally except for a pop up from Avast notifying that it blocked a link to a malicious website. There are several variations and the link below is a sample. The process launching the link to the webpage is
C:\windows\syswow64\dllhost.exe
AV scans do not detect a virus. Can I delete this file and copy a new one in it's place? Copy over it?
Anyone know a fix for this? Thanks for any help
