  1. Hi,

Can anyone help me with the following memory error. I am trying to install a student licenced copy of MATLAB but I cannot get passed this error.

"instruction at 0x78215DA8 Referenced memory at 0x78215DA8 the memory could not be written"

    Thanks

Clean the copper fingers of the RAM and reset it. If that doesn't help and you have more than one stick try using one at a time to see if one is bad.

run memtest 86+ off a real floppy to diagnose memory.

Hmmm a floppy disc, got a problem there in that they dont give us a floppy drive with our work PC anymore. Can it be run from a USB stick? and where do I find it.
    Thanks

you can also burn it onto a bootable CD rom.

    Boot from the CD rom.

Effective diagnosis requires it to be run from DOS.
